Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Wolf Appliance Gas Ranges Units: About 24,000 Manufacturer: Wolf Appliance Inc., of Madison, Wis. Hazard: Delayed ignition of gas in the 18-inch oven can cause a flash of flames to be projected at a consumer when the range door is opened, posing a burn hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: Wolf has received 97 reports of units experiencing delayed ignition, including 15 minor burns. There have been no reports of fires or property damage. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: GE Gas Clothes Dryers Units: About 2,100 Manufacturer: GE Consumer & Industrial, of Louisville, Ky. Hazard: A short circuit in the dryer’s wiring poses a shock hazard to consumers with ungrounded dryers. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recalled gas dryers are 42 inches tall (back with backsplash) and 27 inches wide, and were sold in white. GE gas dryers model number DWXR463GGWW with serial numbers starting with AM, TL, SL, VL, and ZL are included in this recall. To find the model and serial numbers, open the dryer door and look in the upper right corner, in the area that was covered by the door. Sold by: Retail stores, and authorized builder distributors nationwide from September 2006 through October 2007 for about $440. Manufactured in: Canada Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled dryers immediately, unplug the dryer, and contact GE for further instructions and to schedule a free, in-home inspection and repair. GE is directly contacting consumers who purchased the recalled dryers. Petters Consumer Brands Recalls Sunbeam Gas RangesAdmin June 14, 2006 8:34:04 PM Jun 12, 2006 Appliance maker Petters Consumer Brands, LLC, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, recalled an estimated 3,600 Sunbeam gas ranges. Consumers were advised to stop using the ranges immediately. The ranges were manufactured in Costa Rica by Atlas Industrial S.A. According to Petters, the ranges lack an adequate heat shield and can cause scorching of certain flooring materials directly under the appliance. Petters Consumer Brands received two reports of scorched floors. No injuries or other damage has been reported. The recalled Sunbeam branded gas ranges are various colors and show the Sunbeam brand name on the backguard panel. The ranges were sold at stores throughout the U.S. in February 2006 through May 2006 for between U.S. $200 and $400. Recall of Certain GE Monogram Built-in Gas Ranges, GE Monogram® 36-inch and 48-inch Professional Gas RangesPegi February 07, 2006 10:24:47 PM In cooperation with CSA International, GE Consumer & Industrial, of Louisville, KY is voluntarily recalling approximately 72 GE Monogram® 36-inch and 48-inch Professional Gas Ranges sold to customers in Canada from February 2004 through November, 2005. These ranges were manufactured with a flaw that can cause an electrical arc between the wiring and adjacent gas supply tubes at two locations in the control housing of the range, posing a fire hazard. GE has received reports of six incidents in North America of fire in the control area of these ranges. No injuries or property damage has been reported. The recalled GE Monogram built-in ranges include the following models: ZDP48N6RH1SS ZDP48L6RH1SS ZDP48N4GH1SS ZDP48L4GH1SS ZDP48N6DH1SS ZDP48L6DH1SS ZDP36N4DH1SS ZDP36L4DH1SS The recalled ranges have serial numbers starting with DG, FG, GG, HG, LG, MG, RG, SG, TG, VG, ZG, AH, DH, FH, GH, HH, LH, MH, RH, SH.
